In the beginning there was the Internet. And upon the Internet there was chaos, and all manner of information was transmitted in all sorts of ways, and it was complicated.
And then the Blog was created, and we looked upon it and said it was good. And now there is only to visit as many sites daily which blogs we wish to follow, in the hopes that information was added. And this was complicated.
And then the RSS Feed was created, and we looked upon it and it was good.
With RSS feeds we no longer have to go out to our favourite writers’ sites... when articles are published to their blog we can have that article delivered to our Inbox without the fuss. It truly is the easiest way to keep up with... whatever it is we wish to keep up with!
So why is it, I ask, that when I watch the statistics on my own blog that I get several hundred hits every day, and all of my articles are read by masses, do so few people subscribe? Is it that people do not understand how easy RSS feeds are?
For those of you still in the dark RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. It is an easy way for you to receive blogs delivered right to you, rather than you having to visit my site daily.
There are plenty of RSS readers available. My personal favourite is to let Windows Vista handle my feeds, so that all of the feeds I subscribe to are delivered to my Outlook Inbox. If you feel that a different program is more apt I would love to hear about it, but I would like to know why you do or do not use RSS?
